Waste to energy
A WTE plant is built to provide renewable, usable energy and can be designed to have little or no waste output to a landfill. Unlike landfills, air emissions from waste-to-energy facilities can be continuously monitored and regulated. Even modern landfills emit far more potentially-harmful air pollutants than a new waste-to-energy facility. Waste-to-energy technology has also shown through numerous studies to reduce the gases that cause global warming.
WTE plants are a modern technology now favoured by Europe's greenest capitals and are some of the safest options for health and environmental risk factors. Today there are more than 400 waste-to-energy facilities in Europe.
